Japan has lifted a ban on Russian oil

Japan has changed its mind about imposing an embargo on Russian oil.

Axar.az reports the statement came from Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Koishi Hagiuda.

The minister said that oil and liquefied natural gas are reserves that are difficult to find another supplier, and therefore Japan can not currently impose such a ban:

"Japan's resources are limited and it is difficult to join the oil embargo immediately."

He stressed that Tokyo is ready to impose sanctions on Russia.
