Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store and government ministers will hold an extraordinary meeting of the Council of State on August 28.

Axar.az reports, citing the Cabinet’s press service, that the government will convene an extraordinary meeting of the Council of State at the Royal Palace, where they will meet the new king, the successor to King Harald V, who died today.

Following the meeting, a memorial ceremony will be held with the participation of government members.

Norway has a new king following the death of Harald V on Friday.

According to foreign media, the Crown Prince Haakon, 53, has acceded to the throne as King Haakon VIII.

The new monarch faces the immediate task of strengthening public support for the monarchy following a scandal regarding his wife's ties to Jeffrey Epstein and the rape conviction of his stepson.

It should be noted that Norway’s King Harald V died today at the age of 89.
