Baku and Moscow agreed on this issue

Russia has reached an agreement with Azerbaijan on increasing the supply of gas for domestic consumption in this country.

Axar.az reports with reference to the Report that the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak said this.

"In the future, when they (Azerbaijan-ed) increase gas production, we will be able to discuss swap operations," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

He also noted that Russia is negotiating with the representatives of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on increasing the gas supply to the domestic markets of these countries.

Novak noted that Russia can export natural gas to Afghanistan and Pakistan in the long term.

"If we talk about a bigger perspective, then it is the export of gas to Afghanistan and Pakistan: either using infrastructure projects in Central Asia or through the swap route from the territory of Iran," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Earlier, Novak said that the Russian Federation is discussing with European consumers the increase of gas transportation through Turkey after the creation of a junction in this country, and is also ready to restore gas transportation to the region through the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline.
