Chinese banks refuse Russia-related payments

Many Chinese banks refuse to process payments if Russian names are indicated in the payment documents.

Axar.az reports that the newspaper “Izvestiya” has provided this information.

“Similar cases began to be recorded in mid-July. The presence of Russian names, any connection to Russia, and even sometimes texts written in Cyrillic script in the payment documents are grounds for canceling the payment. In this regard, importers are forced to prepare documents for transactions through third parties to avoid any visible connection with Russia,” the report states.

It is noted that “Reuters” also reported that China's state banks have massively suspended transactions with Russia and delayed payments worth billions of yuan.
