Over half of world countries boycotting the dollar

Currently, more than half of the world's countries are boycotting the dollar to some extent.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by "RIA Novosti."

The agency divided the countries into three groups. The first group, consisting of 94 countries, has not openly opposed the dollar or implemented restrictive measures. The authors note that this group includes countries that officially use the U.S. dollar, such as Panama, El Salvador, and the Marshall Islands.

The second group includes countries that have actively moved to make payments in national currencies or imposed restrictions on the use of the dollar. This group consists of 46 countries.

The third group consists of countries that have openly opposed the U.S. dollar, numbering 53.

It should be noted that, according to the International Monetary Fund, the share of the dollar in global currency reserves reached its lowest level in the last three decades in the third quarter of 2024.
