Azerbaijan's natural gas exports to Europe increased by 8.6% in 2024, reaching 12.9 billion cubic meters. Last year, Azerbaijan produced 50.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Of this, 13.3 billion cubic meters came from the "Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli" field, 27.8 billion cubic meters from the "Shah Deniz" field, 1.5 billion cubic meters from the "Absheron" field, and 7.7 billion cubic meters from SOCAR. Compared to 2023, production increased by 2 billion cubic meters.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by member of parliament Vugar Bayramov.

"It should be noted that for the first time in Azerbaijan's history, natural gas production exceeded 50 billion cubic meters annually. This means more export opportunities for our country. Currently, Azerbaijan supplies natural gas to 12 countries in the region.

Overall, gas exports abroad last year reached 25.2 billion cubic meters, which is 5.8% more than in 2023. In addition to Europe, 9.9 billion cubic meters were exported to Turkiye, and more than 2.4 billion cubic meters to Georgia. During this period, 5.6 billion cubic meters of gas were transported to Turkiye via TANAP.

In addition to increasing state revenues, natural gas exports strengthen our country's geopolitical position and enhance Azerbaijan's role in strengthening regional energy security," Bayramov emphasized.
