The exchange price of an ounce of gold has broken the $3,100 mark for the first time in history, setting a new historical record.

Axar.az reports that the publication noted that June futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) rose by 1.57% to $3,100.4 per ounce as of 17:49 Moscow time.

In mid-March, the precious metal reached $3,001.5 per troy ounce for the first time.
