6.8-magnitude earthquake strikes in waters off New Caledonia

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck 178 km east of Tadine in waters off New Caledonia in South Pacific on Sunday, according to U.S. Geological Survey.

Axar.az reports citing Xinhua.

The earthquake which occurred at 11:23 a.m. local time (0123 GMT) was initially determined to be at 21.700 degrees south latitude and 169.600 degrees east longitude at a depth of 14 km.

No tsunami warning has been issued at this time.
