Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received Belgian Senator, the chairperson of the PACE Committee on Legal Affairs and Democracy, rapporteur on human rights in Azerbaijan, Alain Destexhe.

Senator A. Destexhe congratulated on the ocassion of the start of Formula -1 race.

Emphasizing the increasing interest in the world of Formula 1 race, official guest noted that Grand Prix will be held in his country.

A. Destexhe noted he will observe repeat parliamentary election that to be held at Agdash constituency No.90

Head of state said that Baku is new one on the map of Formula 1 and expressed hope that it will be interesting for the guests who come to the tournament, they will be familiar with our country, in terms of access to detailed information on the ongoing development process in Azerbaijan, this event will provide a good opportunity.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on cooperation between the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan.
