Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Beirut in Lebanon on Saturday demanding answers from their political leaders as to who was responsible for the huge explosion in the city that left at least 154 dead and many more still missing beneath the rubble.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media that a number of protesters clashed with police, who fired tear gas at them in order to disperse the unrest.

A march was scheduled to take place between two of the hardest-hit areas of the city near the port to Martyrs’ Square, which was the scene of an anti-government uprising that began last year sparked by public mistrust in the political class and the collapsing economy.
