Macron calls for peaceful transition in Venezuela

Today (yesterday – ed.) the people of Venezuela have freed themselves from Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship and can only rejoice. By seizing power and trampling fundamental freedoms, Nicolás Maduro seriously undermined the dignity of his people. The upcoming transitional period must be peaceful, democratic, and respectful of the will of the Venezuelan people.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron while commenting on the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by the United States.

According to Macron, this transitional period could be ensured by opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia.

It should be noted that yesterday the U.S. military carried out strikes on Caracas and captured President Maduro and his wife, taking them to the United States.
