Turkiye believes that the Zangezur Corridor will be implemented in line with Azerbaijan’s expectations. The corridor, which will provide a land connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, is of great importance both for the Middle Corridor and for Turkiye’s access to the Turkic world.

Axar.az informs Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made these remarks during a year-end meeting with members of the press in Istanbul.

Emphasizing that Ankara expects the peace agreement initialed between Azerbaijan and Armenia to be signed and implemented, Fidan said: “Just yesterday in Washington, some agreements were reached with Armenia to launch the Trump International Peace and Prosperity Route (TRIPP).

I discussed this document and its provisions for nearly two hours with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. I also briefed our president on the framework. However, for the peace agreement to be fully ensured, there are obligations that Armenia must fulfill.

We support the positive will shown by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in this direction.”
