The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Montenegro held another round of political consultations in Podgorica, the Montenegrin capital.
Axar.az reports that the consultations were led by Fariz Rzayev, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, and Perisa Kastratovic, State Secretary of the Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions reviewed the current state of cooperation within the political consultations mechanism, stressing the importance of reciprocal visits in advancing the existing political dialogue.
Additionally, the officials discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the economic, energy, tourism, and humanitarian fields, as well as strategic energy and transport projects implemented by Azerbaijan. They also reviewed the further development of the legal framework.
The parties also discussed cooperation on international platforms, the development of collaboration within various international organizations, and mutual support for each other’s candidacies.
The consultations included a comprehensive exchange of views on the regional situation, the Armenia–Azerbaijan normalization process, large-scale reconstruction, restoration, and demining activities in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, as well as other international matters of mutual concern.
As part of the visit, Fariz Rzayev also met with several Montenegrin officials and participated in roundtable discussions at the University of Montenegro.
