President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev spoke on the phone with Nariman Hamidov, the father of National Hero, Shukur Hamidov, who was martyred for the freedom of Gubadli.

Axar.az reports that the President expressed his condolences over the death of Shukur Hamidov, noting that Shukur Hamidov was awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan for his bravery during the April war, and the President of Azerbaijan personally presented him with a heroic star.

The head of state noted that this time Shukur Hamidov was killed fighting heroically in the battles for the freedom of Gubadli region. President Ilham Aliyev stressed that Shukur's name will be immortalized in the Gubadli region, where he was born and died for his freedom.

Expressing gratitude to the head of state, Nariman Hamidov expressed confidence that the Azerbaijani people, as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, were closely united around him and would continue to support the President of Azerbaijan.

Recalling his meeting with Nariman Hamidov, President Ilham Aliyev thanked him for raising a brave and patriotic son like Shukur and asked to convey his condolences to all the relatives of the Hamidov family.
