I congratulate President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani nation on this great victory. I am really excited to see such a historic achievement and the amazing results of Azerbaijani foreign policy. The territorial integrity of Karabakh to the republic of Azerbaijan has been always recognized by the international community. I am very happy to hear the process of returning occupied territories of Karabakh and seven occupied regions within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The agreement on the return of displaced people to their homeland is a historical achievement. President Ilham Aliyev forced Armenia to surrender. This will be a new chapter of our history.
Axar.az reports that the heir of the Iravan khanate Amir Ali Sardar Iravani made this statement.
According to him in the first half of the 18. century Panahali khan Javanshir laid the foundation of Shusha fortress in a high, inaccessible place surrounded by steep cliffs and turned it into the administrative capital of Karabakh Khanate. Ibrahim Khalil khan built a long defensive fence around the fortress to strengthen it. At the entrance to the fortress, there were two gates, the Ganja Gate on the north side, and the Iravan Gate on the west side. It reminds me of the gates of Iravan fortress in my historical homeland, which was in the neighbourhood of Karabakh Khanate. The territories of Iravan Khanate is today covered by the Republic of Armenia. Iravan fortress was built by my ancestors, who were also heroes of Oghuz tribes. Approximately none of our historical cultural heritage in Iravan remained today. Except for Blue mosque of Iravan - which is built by my ancestor Husseinali khan - everything is razed to the ground. In Karabakh, there has been the same strategy to erase our historical sites. I hope, it is still not too late and we could restore our cultural capital again.
Sardar Iravani reminded that Shusha was inhabited by almost all famous cultural figures of Azerbaijan. In the 18th century, there was a poet like Vagif in Shusha. Khan's daughter Natavan's poetry meetings have taken place there.
According to Sardar Iravani, prominent Azerbaijani cultural figures were born and lived in Shusha:
"The foundation of the first eastern drama, as well as the first professional orchestra and the first ballet for both adults and children, were created in Azerbaijan. It is interesting that most of those who laid the foundation of such works were connected with Shusha. Khan gizi Natavan from Karabakh brought a special freshness to Azerbaijani poetry with her creativity. Hundreds of poems have been written about Karabakh. In these poems, Karabakh is illustrated as the unity of love and inspiration.
Now the day has come, when the monuments are going to be restored on the top of the mountain, and visitors will come to the springs. It is a new chapter of our history. Actually, each page of our history is important for us. In the future, we will be successful only if we do not forget our past and try to learn from it. I wish our people great courage and strength in the reconstruction of the liberated territories.
Our historical cities such as Shusha, Iravan, Ganja, Baku, Nakhchivan, Shaky and others are all pieces of our proud historical homeland. There are so many inseparable links between those pieces. It’s our duty to preserve our heritage from censorship, distortion and manipulation."
