Any statement about the weapons purchased is a military secret. Now, regardless of whether the Armenian authorities buy weapons or not, they have already signed a memorandum and said that buying weapons is a practical matter.
Axar.az reports that military expert, reserve colonel Hayk Nahapetyan said this in an interview with the Armenian press.
"This shows their arrogance. At the same time, it allows Azerbaijan to say that Armenia is arming itself, France is arming Armenia, and this is a step taken for Armenia to attack Azerbaijan. Against the background of all this, Azerbaijan can also announce that it will take preventive measures to prevent Armenia from attacking it. It can even reach the border of Yerevan.
Now I want to ask a question: for example, does anyone know that Armenia has serious military-technical cooperation with NATO member countries until 2018, while it is a member of the CSTO? Who knew about this? Nobody talked about it. This is how their policy works.
Even now, they advertise themselves with weapons, but they do not understand that Azerbaijan can take a very strict step for this.
Pashinyan also stated that Armenia does not intend to attack any neighbour. Can you imagine how the leaders of Georgia, Turkiye, Iran and Azerbaijan laughed when they saw that statement? How can you announce such a thing? You say you are not going to attack anyone, what you say is taken for granted, but you are arming yourself.
Why do they buy these weapons? Or, let's say, why were armoured personnel carriers bought? Was it a primary need, or was it necessary to thwart the enemy's most important objectives? For example, is preventing an airstrike a priority? In any conflict, the state that has absolute superiority in the sky will win the war."
