In my opinion, the coming to power of Masoud Pezeshkian in Iran will have a significant positive impact on the development of relations with Azerbaijan. Mr. Ilham Aliyev's call to Pezeshkian and the messages given, as well as the mutual visit invitation, give reason to say this.
Axar.az informs that Professor Gabil Huseynli stated the words. The scientist said that relations will enter a new stage after the visits.
"First of all, I think that Ilham Aliyev will visit Iran in order to strengthen the confidence and positions of our compatriots in Masoud Pezeshkian, and both heads of state will be present at the opening ceremony of the new embassy of our country. Then, at a suitable time, Pezeshkia will visit our country. It takes time to solve certain issues and problems. The world is going through difficult times, and dry pathos does not solve problems. The main thing is to form a common point of view on vital issues. In the near future, we will see steps in this direction. Over time, Pezeshkian will succeed in neutralizing the groups that exacerbate relations with Azerbaijan."
The professor emphasized that Tehran will give more weight to Baku in its relations with Yerevan.
"Regarding the relations with Armenia, it can be predicted that it will be established in a completely new form and that the national security interests of Azerbaijan and Turkiye will be taken into account more during the process. The atmosphere of the telephone conversation between Pashinyan and Pezeshkian gives us the opportunity to say this."
Gabil Huseynli also talked about relations with the West:
"Unlike the USA, positive signals regarding cooperation with Pezeshkian are already showing themselves in Europe. Gradually, Iran will find a new framework for relations with the West, and will achieve easing of sanctions. In general, usually all presidential candidates define the model of how and in which direction they will manage the country if they come to power. Pezeshkian also has this model, which is useful for all of us."
