Kyrgyz president extends condolences to Azerbaijan

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has sent a condolence telegram to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev regarding the crash of a plane belonging to AZAL Airlines.

Axar.az reports that this information was shared by the press service of the Kyrgyz head of state.

"Today, I received with great sorrow the news of the tragic crash of an Azerbaijani passenger plane, which resulted in numerous fatalities. On behalf of the people of the Kyrgyz Republic and personally, I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives. I also wish a speedy recovery to those injured in this tragedy. I share your grief and sorrow over this irreplaceable loss," the statement read.

Earlier, citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport, it was reported that, according to preliminary information, the plane that crashed near Aktau carried 3 Kyrgyz, 37 Azerbaijani, 6 Kazakh, and 16 Russian citizens.
