After Israel took responsibility for the killing of Hamas' political leader Ismail Haniyeh, Iran sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Security Council.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by IRNA.

"Israel’s open acknowledgment of responsibility for this horrific crime confirms Tehran’s position on the legality of defensive responses and the threat to regional security. This is the first open admission by Israel of its responsibility for the heinous crime," the letter stated.

It is noted that Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz was the first to admit that his country was behind the killing of Hamas Political Bureau leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
