Iran hopes that a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be signed soon.

Axar.az reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated this during a joint briefing with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan to sign a peace treaty soon. We are ready to contribute to peace and stability," he said.

Araghchi emphasized that all issues in the South Caucasus region should be resolved through diplomacy, without the use of force: "This is Tehran’s stable position."
