Azerbaijan has thwarted the plans of the West thanks to the support of friendly countries, led by Turkiye.
Axar.az reports that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said this in an interview with the Turkish Anadolu Agency.
He said that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, the United States, France, and Russia, have not taken any practical steps to resolve the Karabakh problem:
“No pressure was exerted on Armenia to end the occupation, and the occupier and the victim were treated equally. After the problem was resolved with the second Karabakh war, Western countries, which had not taken any action regarding the occupation for 30 years, began to exert pressure on Azerbaijan. They are trying to punish Azerbaijan for ensuring its territorial integrity. France and Emmanuel Macron personally are at the head of them. They wanted to punish Azerbaijan by holding discussions in the UN Security Council. They tried to impose sanctions on Azerbaijan in the European Union.”
The minister said that none of these efforts were successful:
“In the United States, during the time of the Democrats in power, Armenia was supported, and they did not say anything to the occupier for 30 years. When Azerbaijan ensured its territorial integrity, they tried to punish and put pressure on it. But thanks to the independent foreign policy we pursued, and the support of friendly countries, especially our brother Turkiye, the West’s plans were thwarted.”
