On July 3, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on the sidelines of the 17th ECO Summit held in the city of Khankendi.
Axar.az reports according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on the current state of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as well as opportunities for expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
It was emphasized that the recent dynamics of high-level reciprocal visits and the intensity of our political dialogue have played a significant role in moving bilateral relations to a fundamentally new stage and further enriching them.
During the meeting, the importance of deepening cooperation in economic relations, trade, investment, energy security, transport, and other promising areas was highlighted.
There was an exchange of views on regional developments, challenges, and opportunities. It was affirmed that, as in the bilateral format, Azerbaijan and Pakistan always support each other’s legitimate interests on regional issues and are committed to continuing mutually beneficial cooperation in the interests of both states and peoples.
The ministers also had an extensive exchange of views on initiatives under Pakistan’s presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of July.
The meeting also addressed other bilateral and international issues of mutual interest.
