The first offer of condolences and help regarding the landslide that occurred in the territory of Shovi municipality in the west of Georgia and caused human casualties came from our friend and neighbor Azerbaijan.

Information portals "interpressnews.ge", "apsny.ge", "sputnik-georgia.ru", "24news.ge", "aktual.ge", "interpress.ge", television "1tv.ge" with a wide readership , "ruetavi2.ge" TV channels and several other sites have published information that Azerbaijan is the first country to offer condolences and friendly assistance to Georgia.

It is reported that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, called the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia regarding the disaster that occurred as a result of a flood and landslide near the Shovi resort in Racha mountainous region. The minister expressed deep condolences to the families and relatives of those who died during the heavy disaster, the Government, and the people of Georgia, and wished for the recovery of the injured. He expressed hope that the missing persons will be found soon. J. Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan is always with Georgia and is ready to provide every assistance in the direction of rescue measures and elimination of the consequences of the natural disaster.
