A large delegation led by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev went on a business trip to London to participate in the 28th annual conference and general meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors.
Axar.az was informed by the Press Service of the General Prosecutor's Office that the delegation visited the bust of the National Leader of our people Heydar Aliyev at the embassy of our country in the United Kingdom and paid respect to his dear memory.
Then a meeting was held with the employees of the embassy.
At the opening ceremony of the conference, the Attorney General of England and Wales, Victoria Prentiss, the head of the Crown Prosecution Service, Max Hill, and the president of the International Association of Prosecutors, Juan Batista Mahiques, welcomed the guests, emphasized that the event will contribute positively to the successful continuation of international cooperation in the fight against modern manifestations of crime, and wished success to the work of the conference.
Chief Prosecutor Kamran Aliyev, speaking at the plenary session of the conference on September 25, spoke about the large-scale reforms carried out in the prosecutor's offices of our country, the role of the prosecutor's office in the fight against crime in modern times and the importance of international cooperation in this field.
In addition, within the framework of the conference, Kamran Aliyev held meetings with the chief prosecutors of Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Thailand, Georgia, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Tajikistan and other countries and the heads of influential international organizations. In addition to discussing the issues of expanding bilateral legal relations, on September 19, the Prosecutor General informed his colleagues about the local anti-terrorist measures conducted in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan under the leadership of Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
As part of the Prosecutor General's business visit to London, a bilateral meeting was held at the National Crime Agency (NCA) of the United Kingdom. In the meeting with Chief Operations Officer Rob Jones, issues of effective fight against transnational crime, including illegal drug trafficking, human trafficking and other organized crimes between our countries were discussed.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of our country to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Elin Suleymanov took part in the meeting.
