Alper Gezeravci, the first astronaut of Turkiye to travel in space, will visit Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports that Samaddin Asadov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Space Agency ("Azerkosmos"), said this after the third meeting of the space agencies of the Turkish states held in Ankara.
He said that one of the fields of useful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkiye is the space field, and the experiences of the two brotherly countries in this field are mutually studied:
"At the Astronautical Congress held in Baku last year, the location of the conference to be held in 2026 was determined. The Turkish city of Antalya was chosen with the support of the Azerbaijani side. Our country has serious experience in this field, and we will provide the necessary assistance to our Turkish brothers in connection with the event."
The chairman said that Azerbaijan is also benefiting from Turkiye's experience in the field of satellites:
"It is known that recently Turkiye sent its astronaut into orbit. We intend to provide information to the relevant universities of Azerbaijan regarding the knowledge and experience he has acquired, as well as the scientific experiments he has carried out in the International Space Station of the Turkish state. For this, we will organize the visit of that astronaut to Azerbaijan."
