Boxing legend Benvenuti dies at 87

Italian sports legend, former professional boxer and actor Giovanni “Nino” Benvenuti has died at the age of 87.

Axar.az reports that the world and Olympic champion, who had been suffering from a serious illness for some time, passed away in the capital, Rome.

Nino Benvenuti was a former European and world champion according to the WBC version, and a gold medalist at the 1960 Rome Olympics. He starred in two Italian films towards the end of his boxing career.
