On the official website of the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the United States (USA) Department of Agriculture, the "Boar's Head" and "Old Country" brands of 71 types of food products (animal ready for consumption) with production dates of May 10, 2024 and July 29, 2024 and poultry products) was announced.

Axar.az reports that according to the information of the Federal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 43 people have been infected with the disease as a result of the contamination of the products produced by the company "Boar's Head Provisions Co" with the bacteria "Listeria monocytogenes" in 13 states of the USA. The information also states that those infected with the disease were hospitalized and three deaths occurred among them.

Consuming food contaminated with L.Monocytogenes causes listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects pregnant women, those 65 and older, or people with weakened immune systems. In some cases, people outside these risk groups are also affected by the infection.

It should be noted that as a result of the research conducted by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency, it was determined that the mentioned products were not imported to our country. In addition, the Agency has strengthened the control measures of all high-risk food products imported from the USA to our country.

In addition, we inform you that manufacturers of high-risk food products imported into our country are involved in the approval procedure according to the current legislation.
