Four years have passed since Ganja, Azerbaijan's second largest city, was once again subjected to rocket attacks by the Armenian Armed Forces during the Patriotic War.
Axar.az reports that around 2:00 AM on October 11, 2020, the city's center was hit by a ballistic missile attack from the enemy. Despite the implementation of a humanitarian ceasefire regime starting on October 10, the Armenian army continued to intensively shell Azerbaijani residential areas. In Ganja, civilians were targeted once more. As a result of the missile strikes on multi-storey residential buildings, 9 people were killed, including 4 women, and 35 others were injured. One of the injured later died in the hospital.
In addition, more than 10 multi-storey buildings and over 100 various facilities were damaged. A criminal case has been initiated at the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan regarding the shelling of Ganja city under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
