On October 31, the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and her family members got acquainted with the current situation in the building of the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater.

Axar.az reports that Minister of Culture Adil Karimli informed First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva and her family members about the theater.

It was reported that the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater, one of the well-known theater collectives of our republic, was founded in 1994 as a theater-studio. The studio operated under the Young Audience Theater for six years. On March 6, 2000, the collective was granted state status. Since 2005, the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater has been located in the building of the former "Shafaq" cinema.

For more than thirty years, the works of many authors have been staged at the Pantomime Theater. One of the main advantages of this type of theater is that there is no language barrier for it. During the past period, the collective has successfully represented Azerbaijani culture in Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Russia and other countries.

Today, the Pantomime Theater is one of our most visited and popular cultural centers.

It was noted that the building where the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater is currently located was built in 1900 and is on the list of architectural monuments of local importance.

During the familiarization with the current situation, information was also given about the necessary repairs to be done in the building.
