The plane that crashed in Aktau had 37 Azerbaijani, 16 Russian, 6 Kazakhstani, and 3 Kyrgyz nationals on board.

Axar.az reports that this information was shared by Kazakhstan's "Tengrinews" website.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243, operated by an "Embraer 190" aircraft, crashed 3 km near Aktau city.

Due to fog in Grozny, the plane was initially directed to Makhachkala, and later to Aktau airport. Over the Caspian Sea, the plane collided with a flock of birds and sent an SOS signal.

There were 67 people on board – 62 passengers and 5 crew members. Kazakhstan's Ministry of Health has reported that 25 people have been hospitalized.
