The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) has become the event of the year in Azerbaijan, and the number of people who came to Azerbaijan for this event demonstrates its importance.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at a meeting with participants of the III Shusha Global Media Forum.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan is actively developing "green energy", using gas and water resources to produce electricity.

The head of state said that when it comes to our contribution to the global climate agenda, I think that Azerbaijan is a country that has chosen a very correct position from an ecological point of view.

"We do not use coal. We produce electricity. We use hydroelectric power. We have also started producing solar energy. We have huge energy resources in this regard. We have already signed several investment agreements."
