Today, Europe needs more Azerbaijani gas.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev said this at a meeting with participants of the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum.

The head of state said that Azerbaijan is ready to increase this volume. According to the president, in 2021 this figure was 8 billion cubic meters, and today it is 13 billion cubic meters:

"This is half of our total production and exports. For additional volumes, there should be a pragmatic approach with European institutions again."

The president said that today, the Southern Gas Corridor is operating at maximum capacity:

"For new locations, we use interconnectors. However, the main pipeline is full. We need additional funding for expansion. Therefore, European financial institutions should take this into account and change their policies so that we can attract additional funds. In these circumstances, the topic, which is already a closed issue for us today, can be developed again."
