The Misli Premier League’s 28th round match between “Zira” and “Neftchi” ended in controversy after a late incident in the 1–1 draw.
Axar.az reports that the situation unfolded in the 90+4th minute following Zira’s equalizing goal scored by Brahim Konate.
“Neftchi” representatives argued that the goal was scored illegally, after which tensions escalated on the pitch. Referee Inqilab Mammadov issued red cards to Zira assistant coach Aghabala Ramazanov and later to Neftchi head coach Yuri Vernydub, who reacted emotionally to the decision.
It is noted that the referee did not consult VAR regarding the incident.
