FIFA bans bringing water to World Cup matches

FIFA has introduced unprecedented restrictions for fans planning to attend matches at the upcoming World Cup.

Axar.az reports, citing Daily Sports, FIFA has officially banned bringing any water bottles into the stadiums for the 2026 World Cup. The rules for entering arenas have become significantly stricter. While previous tournaments allowed fans to take empty, transparent plastic bottles up to 1 liter into the stands, this loophole has now been completely closed.

The sweeping ban also includes any cups, tin cans, and absolutely any other containers for liquids.

FIFA justified this radical new measure purely with safety considerations at sporting venues. The federation's management is convinced that such objects could be used by unruly fans as projectiles in the stands, posing a direct risk of injury to other spectators, staff, and participants in the matches.
