Azerbaijan loses 2–1 to Hungary in World Cup qualifier

The Azerbaijan women’s national football team played its next match in the FIFA World Cup qualifying stage.

Axar.az reports that the team, competing in Group 3 of League C, hosted Hungary.

The match, held at the Mehdi Huseynzade Stadium in Sumqayit, ended in a 2–1 victory for the visitors.

The only goal for the Azerbaijani side was scored by Khanim Asadova.

Prior to this match, the team had defeated Andorra twice (3–1 and 2–0) and North Macedonia (2–0), while losing the away fixture against Hungary (0–1).

After five matches, the Azerbaijan women’s national team has 9 points and sits in second place in the group standings, while Hungary leads the table with 13 points.
