England recovers stolen World Cup training gear

The England national football team has recovered most of the training equipment that was stolen ahead of their arrival in Kansas City for the FIFA World Cup.

Axar.az reports, citing BBC, the items were taken after vehicles transporting gear to the team’s base at Swope Soccer Village were broken into.

Police, working with the Football Association, investigated the incident and later recovered the majority of the equipment, with two arrests made.

England manager Thomas Tuchel is set to lead his squad into their World Cup preparations in Kansas City, where they are due to begin training ahead of their opening match against Croatia.

Officials said the stolen items included footwear, though no elite or match-critical boots were taken, and the team’s preparations are not expected to be significantly disrupted.

Kansas City police said the investigation remains ongoing at the time of reporting.
