Mexico makes World Cup history

Mexico defeated Czechia 3-0 in their final Group A match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Axar.az reports that the victory saw one of the tournament's host nations achieve a historic milestone, as Mexico won all three of its group-stage matches at a World Cup for the first time.

The Mexican national team also completed the group stage without conceding a goal for the first time since the 1970 World Cup.

It should be noted that Mexico extended its World Cup winning streak to four matches, the longest in the team's history at the tournament.

The run began with a 2-1 victory over Saudi Arabia at the 2022 World Cup and continued with three consecutive wins in the group stage of the 2026 tournament, securing Mexico's place in the knockout rounds.
