Qarabag agrees deal for Hungarian defender

Qarabag is close to signing another player to strengthen its squad.

Axar.az informs, citing Hungarian outlet Nemzeti Sport and according to the Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, that the Azerbaijani club has reached an agreement to sign Bence Varkonyi, a defender from Hungarian side Zalaegerszeg.

Qarabag is set to pay €1 million for the 24-year-old Hungarian center-back, who is expected to sign a three-year contract.

Varkonyi is currently under contract with Zalaegerszeg until the end of the 2026/27 season.
