Azerbaijan wins 9 medals at Prague European Cup

The European Cup for young judokas held in Prague ended successfully for the Azerbaijani national team.

Axar.az reports that the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, the team won eight medals on the second day of competition.

Mehdi Abbasov (81 kg) and Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg) defeated all of their opponents to claim gold medals.

Jasur Ibadli (81 kg), Janpolad Aliyev (100 kg), and Nargiz Ahmadova (48 kg) won silver medals.

Bronze medals went to Suleyman Shukurov (90 kg), Davud Namazli (100 kg), and Khadija Gadeshova (57 kg).

On the opening day of the tournament, Abil Yusubov (73 kg) had already secured a silver medal.

As a result, Azerbaijan finished the Prague European Cup with a total of nine medals — two gold, four silver, and three bronze. The team placed third overall among 33 countries and first in the men's team standings.
