Latvian midfielder joins Qarabag

Qarabag FK have completed another signing as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.

Axar.az reports according to the club, the Agdam-based side have signed Cebrail Makreckis from Ferencvarosi TC.

The 26-year-old Latvian midfielder has signed a three-year contract and will remain with Qarabag until the summer of 2029. He will wear the No. 25 shirt.

Born in Germany and a graduate of Bayer Leverkusen's academy, Makreckis has also played professionally for Bonner SC, Borussia Dortmund, FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin and Pirin Blagoevgrad. He also represented Latvia national under-19 football team in 2018.

Makreckis is Qarabag's eighth signing of the summer transfer window. The club had previously added Jaly Mouaddib, Zakaria Sawo, Samuel Lobato, Bruno Langa, Martin Zlomislic, Renaldo Cephas and Bence Várkonyi to the squad.
