France forward Kylian Mbappe has become his country's all-time appearance leader at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Axar.az informs that the semifinal against Spain marked the 27-year-old's 21st appearance at the tournament.

Mbappe surpassed former France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who made 20 appearances before retiring from international football following the 2022 World Cup.

Mbappe has played for Spain's Real Madrid since 2024. During the 2024/25 season, he won the Spanish Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup with the club.

A 2018 FIFA World Cup winner with France, Mbappe also finished as runner-up at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he won the Golden Boot after scoring eight goals.

It shouldbe noted that the tournament is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico and will conclude on July 19.
