Azerbaijani table tennis player Onur Guluzade has secured a historic result at the European Youth Table Tennis Championships in Gondomar, Portugal.

Competing in the boys' doubles alongside Turkiye's Gorkem Ocal, Guluzade reached the semifinals to earn a bronze medal.

With the achievement, Guluzade became the first Azerbaijani table tennis player in the country's independence era to win a medal at the European Youth Championships.

In the semifinal, the Guluzade–Ocal duo lost 2-3 to the Austrian-Spanish pair of Luis Fegerl and Ladimir Mayorov, finishing the tournament with the bronze medal.
