FIFA reveals 2026 World Cup prize money

FIFA expanded the payout for the 2026 World Cup, setting a record with a combined $871 million paid to the 48 participating teams.

Axar.az reports World champions Spain received $51 million after defeating Argentina in the final. Argentina earned $34 million as runners-up, while third-placed England took home $30 million and fourth-placed France received $28 million.

Each of the 48 participating national football associations was guaranteed at least $12.5 million for competing in the tournament.

To help cover preparation and training costs, FIFA paid $2.5 million of that amount to each federation in advance before the tournament. The remaining $10 million was distributed as participation prize money.
