Former England international footballer and two-time Ballon d'Or winner Kevin Keegan has died at the age of 76.

Axar.az reports, citing foreign media, that he passed away after a long battle with cancer.

During his playing career, Keegan represented England's Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Southampton, Germany's Hamburg, and Australia's Blacktown City. With Liverpool, he won the English league title three times, the FIFA Community Shield twice, the UEFA Cup, the FIFA Cup, and the European Cup. With Hamburg, he won the German championship and the German Cup.

Keegan won the Ballon d'Or in 1978 and 1979, becoming the only English player in history to win the award twice. He was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2002.

After retiring as a player, Keegan became a manager, coaching Newcastle United, Fulham, Manchester City, and the England national team.
