Guardiola turns down Italy offer

Spanish coach Pep Guardiola has turned down an offer to become the head coach of the Italy national team.

Axar.az reports that the Italian Football Federation held talks in recent days with the 55-year-old manager in an attempt to appoint him as the team's new head coach, but the sides failed to reach an agreement.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Guardiola rejected the proposal.

According to the reports, despite Italy's strong efforts to bring the experienced coach on board, Guardiola is not interested in taking on a new project at this stage.

Media reports also suggest that financial issues played a role in the failure to reach an agreement.

It should be noted that Antonio Conte, Andrea Pirlo, and Roberto Mancini are also among the candidates for the Italy national team's head coach position.
