Jabrayil FC to be renamed Ganjabasar after sale

Jabrayil will not compete in the Azerbaijani First League next season after the club was sold by its co-founders, Araz-Nakhchivan head coach Javid Huseynov and Shahin Mammadov.

Axar.az reports that the club has been sold to a group of businessmen from Ganja.

Under the agreement, Ganjabasar Football Club will become the legal successor to Jabrayil. The parties reportedly agreed on a deal worth AZN 400,000. Once the legal formalities are completed, the club will officially be renamed Ganjabasar.

The new club will be managed by Namiq Gadirov, the former chairman of Kapaz's Board of Directors who resigned at the beginning of last season, and former executive director Ilgar Nadiri.
