McGregor faces one-year layoff after ACL tear

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor will be unable to compete for one year due to an injury he sustained during his fight against American fighter Max Holloway.

Axar.az reports that UFC President Dana White announced this at a press conference.

White stated that McGregor suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his knee.

It should be noted that in McGregor's first fight after a five-year absence—at a UFC event in Las Vegas—he was defeated by Holloway via technical knockout just 65 seconds after the fight began. The Irish fighter injured his knee in the opening moments of the bout and was unable to continue.
