Azerbaijan international striker Nariman Akhundzade has left Columbus Crew.

Axar.az reports, citing Sportinfo.az, that the 23-year-old striker will continue his career in Turkiye.

He has reached an agreement with Erzurumspor, who will play in the Turkish Super Lig next season after winning the TFF First League title and securing promotion for the first time in five years.

The move was initiated by Akhundzade. The forward, who joined Columbus Crew from Qarabag this spring on a three-and-a-half-year contract, asked the club to let him leave.

He reportedly told the coaching staff he was not getting enough playing time and had grown frustrated with his lack of opportunities.

Columbus Crew granted his request, paving the way for his move to Erzurumspor.
