An official Iranian delegation led by Minister of Sports and Youth Ahmad Donyamali is on a visit to Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports, citing Azerbaijan's Ministry of Youth and Sports, that the delegation visited the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and paid tribute to his memory.

The delegation also visited the Alley of Martyrs and the Victory Monument to honor those who lost their lives.

During the visit, Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov held bilateral talks with Donyamali and the accompanying delegation. The sides discussed expanding cooperation in the fields of youth and sports, exchanging experience, and organizing reciprocal visits.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two countries signed the 2026–2028 Action Plan for implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Fields of Youth and Sports between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Sports and Youth of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It should be noted that as part of the visit, Donyamali and the delegation are also expected to tour several sports facilities in Baku.
