The second round of the Turkish Super League has begun.

Axar.az reports that one match was played on the opening day.

Defending champions Galatasaray visited Erzurumspor, which also features Azerbaijan national team player Nariman Akhundzada. The match ended in a 4-0 victory for the Istanbul side. Roland Sallai, Yunus Akgun and Victor Osimhen, who scored twice, found the net.

Akhundzada started the match on the bench and came on in the 55th minute. He was shown a yellow card in the 84th minute.

It should be noted that following the result, Galatasaray moved to the top of the table with four points, while Super League newcomers Erzurumspor, who have yet to earn a point, remain at the bottom.

The remaining matches of the round will be played on August 22-23.
